Supporters of this Initiative
B416 was started by a group of concerned New Zealanders who believe it's time for our politicians to confront the escalating youth mental health crisis and set a minimum age of 16 for social media use in New Zealand.
We exist to give a voice to the thousands of parents, caregivers, educators, and health professionals who are witnessing firsthand the impact social media is having on our kids.
Our supporters have helped us get this far - covering the costs of our website, some creative work, some advertising, a photographer and the occasional travel expense. We’re also backed by an incredible crew of people who volunteer their time, skills, and heart to this kaupapa. You know who you are - and we’re seriously grateful.
Just so it’s clear:
B416 has not received funding from any company or industry that could benefit financially from this initiative. We’re here for the kids, not anyone’s bottom line.
Political ties? Also no. We’re proudly non-partisan. This is an issue that affects all children - regardless of who their parents vote for.
It’s complex and it won’t be easy, but we’re up for it.
And if you’d like to support us, we welcome all donations – big or small.
